Orange Chocolate Chip Cookies

Let's face it, chocolate anything is good. Adding orange juice to the mix simply makes it great. This recipe makes around 4 dozen cookies from balls with a 1-1/4" diameter and they will spread when you bake them, so give them room or make smaller cookies. For cannabutter cookies, these will be anywhere from 75mg to over 100mg, depending the quality of your ganja. Make at least a couple of smaller cookies for testing.


  • 4 sticks unsalted butter or cannabutter
  • 2 cups granulated or turbinado sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 oranges - zest and juice
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1-1/2 cups frozen chocolate chips (not minis!)


  • Zest both oranges and then juice them both, adding the zest and juice to your mixer bowl
  • Add the softened butter and sugar and mix until fully creamed
  • Add the eggs and mix
  • Mix the flour, baking soda, and chocolate chips in a large bowl and then add to the mixer and combine
  • Place the dough in the refrigerator for an hour or two
  • When the dough is chilled, preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line two or three baking sheets with parchment paper
  • Roll the dough into 1" to 1-1/2" balls and place with plenty of room on the baking sheets
  • Bake 13-15 minutes or until the edges start to get brown
  • Cool on racks
